In order to analyze a school website, I visited my high school's web page, bfhsla.org. I searched around and looked at what the school chose to show off on their public page. On the home page, the school announcements and a list of upcoming events are shown, along with a link to a full calendar and a list of awards the school has received in the recent past. At the top of the page is where the links to other information is found. Under the "About Us" tab, there is a link to view faculty and staff information. This page has the faculty and staff listed in alphabetical order with their names, school email, and a short (three word max) description of their position in the school. Not much information is given about the staff.

When I'm a teacher, I plan to use my own website to keep my students and their parents informed. I will post the class documents and homework on my website so that my students always know what is going on in class and what they need to prepare for the future. Since I want to teach English as a foreign language, I will also employ the pen-pal system and have my students email their partners for efficiency.

Last week, my class visited the Technology Sandbox in the Education Building where we got to see a lot of different types of technology that people have started to implement in their classrooms. We saw 3D printers, 3D pens, Smart Boards, AR and VR head sets, and many more. From what I saw, the most useful tool for me when I am a teacher would be the SmartBoards or the camera that follows you as you record. Not much of the technology would be useful in an upper level EFL course because it is so specific and most of the tech was geared towards younger children or students in tech-focused courses.
