My name is Madeline. I was born in Plantation, Florida, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I moved back to Florida for college mostly because of the financial benefit and partly because of the state's tendency for warmer weather. I am an English Education major and I hope to also get a Spanish minor. After graduation, I hope to move out of the country to begin my career as a teacher of English as a foreign language.
In school, I have used the basics in regards to technology. I have always had classes with smart boards in the room and classes with computers. In middle school, we were forced to take a computer/typing class that taught us how how properly type on a computer keyboard and how to search up information online. Since eighth grade, I have been using Google Drive for almost every paper/powerpoint/project and I have never felt the need to switch to any other platform for my work.
In this class, I hope to learn about how technology benefits both the teachers and the students in the classroom. I hope to learn how I can be a better teacher with technology on my side, and the times that technology will not be necessarily useful in a teaching manner.
